PEE PEE POO POO

Lately I’ve been reconnecting with my inner child.

These figures are part of a series of works that engage with the playful aspects of making with clay as a medium that came so naturally to me in my childhood, which is something I felt I was becoming disconnected from within the academic context of my practice. As artists, we can become quite wrapped up in taking ourselves and our work too seriously, and a return to giving life to simple little earthen creatures helps keep me grounded in the pure joys of working with my hands to express the childlike wonder and curiousity of life through impish embodiments of imaginative play.
